The Kingsman film series consist of the spy-action/comedy genre loosely based on The Secret Service comics by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons. Directed by Mathew Vaughn and distributed by 20th Century Fox, this film series has become the newest successful series in the spy genre since the Taken film series and has become more successful than the Austin Powers films in the comedy aspect of the genre. The series by far has two released films and a third one in pre-production. It has grossed $814.3 million adjusted to 2017 inflation[1] and $808.6 million when not adjusted.[2]

Pre-Series[]

In 2011, Mathew Vaughn was in talks to adopt The Secret Service comics which originated when Mark Millar had a conversation with Vaughn at a bar about spy movies and how to make them fun again.[3] In 2013, Fox acquired the rights to distribute the adaptation.
