- "The object of war is not to die for one's country, but to make the enemy die for theirs."
- ― Herbert Kitchener
Lord Herbert Kitchener was the British Secretary of State for War who led the nation's war efforts during the Boer war and the Great War.
The King's Man[]
Lord Herbert Kitchener was a British military leader who was close friends with The Duke of Oxford. Kitchener worked very closely with his aide de camp Captain Morton. He often did not see eye to eye with the Duke due to his friend's pacifism but he tried to respect his worldview and tried to protect Oxford's son Conrad from enlisting in the war. Kitchener met his untimely end when he was betrayed while traveling to Russia aboard The H.M.S Hampshire. His trusted aide Morton secretly betrayed him by sneaking off the ship and destroying it to prevent the war secretary from interfering with Rasputin's assignment.
Trivia[]
- Kitchener can be considered a honorary Kingsman since his friend the Duke honored him by having a portrait of him hung in the boardroom of the Kingsman Tailor Shop.
