Biography[]
The King's Man[]
Hanussen followed The Shepherd’s orders and manipulated Kaiser Wilhelm II into declaring war. He played on the Kaiser’s insecurities about his deformed hand and family upbringing. Later in the war when the Kaiser was blockading American ships from England in an attempt to starve the country, Hanussen advised him to take actions to mitigate the risk of American involvement in the war. He had the Kaiser order his diplomats to send the Zimmermann Telegram to Mexico, instructing the nation to attack the United States. This later backfired when Polly Wilkins decoded the cable which increased the likelihood of the Americans entering the war. Hanussen freely admitted his mistakes to The Shepherd which earned him his leader's respect. The Shepherd then ordered Mata Hari to seduce the American president to make up for Hanussen’s mistake and keep the Americans out of the war.
